Ancient Work Ministries, Inc. was formulated in 2012 while the Caseys were members of First Baptist Church of Aledo, Texas.  Rick was the administrator of the Cambodian benevolence fund for the church. As other ministries started to reveal themselves to the Caseys, Rick embarked on the 501(c)(3) formation and received tax-exempt status for Ancient Work Ministries, Inc.  Mostly self-funded, AWM passed 100% of all monies on to partner ministries and made up shortfalls themselves.  During debriefing sessions about these mission trips, certain common traits were noted.  Being a CPA, Rick found that many ministries have neither the time nor the resources to do their own 990 tax reporting or routine accounting functions. Ruth also found many "boots on the ground" ministries lacked experience in grant writing, creating viable donor bases, and public relations activities were non-existent. Thus, a specialized subset of ministry services developed for AWM that had previously only been available when projects were presented on a case by case basis.
